Bluetooth v Traditional Advertising
The cost of advertising through traditional means are expensive and as you probably already know the results are often not great.
For the purpose of this example lets assume your business is an electrical retail store and you want to get your company's marketing message across "CLEARLY" to 100,000 people. I say clearly because often advertising is misleading as to actually how many people really read and absorb your advert.
Newspaper Advertising
You place an advert in your local paper which has a readership of 100,000 people and you put in a £500 half page advert. Now even though the paper has 100,000 that might read the paper, exactly how many people are reading and absorbing your advert?
Of that 100,000 people some people only read the sport, do the crossword, flick through the TV guide, not everyone reads the paper from cover to cover. So very quickly that 100,000 readership has dropped down to more like 1 in 10 people who have actually flicked past your advert and of those people how many bother to read the adverts? Not many but lets assume you do well and your advert is read by 10,000 people you will still need to run that advert for 10 days in order to get 100,000 reading and fully digesting your advertisement, the cost to you would be £5000.
Using the same principal for newspaper advertising you can see that radio and television advertising is again even more expensive.
Internet Advertising
Lets use Google ad words and get 100,000 click through for the keywords below
Mobile Phone = £1.25 per click
Computer = £1.41 per click
Laptop Computer = £2.29 per click
TV = £0.57 per click
So the cost per 100,000 click through using Google for these is
Mobile Phones = £125,000
Computer = £141,000
Laptop Computer = £229,000
TV = £57,000
Mail Drop and Flyering
To get 100,000 A5 Colour Flyers printed will cost approximately £3000 but promotional staff or leaflet distributors will commonly charge £25 per thousand distributed so it will cost a further £2500 to have your leaflets distributed.
Bringing the total cost of getting your 100,000 flyers made and distributed to approximately £5500 and there is no guarantee how many of those flyers are fully read by the recipient not to mention the environmental issues around flyering. Many towns are now banning flyering and presenting penalty fines to any companies that are found using this method.
Bluetooth Advertising
One time set up cost for our bluetooth marketing product . After this you can send adverts every single day direct to peoples handsets. Lets say your pod sends 500 ads a day within 200 days you will have sent 100,000 people a high quality video, mp3, flashing picture or you will have stored your telephone number via V-Card on 100,000 mobile phones.
Unlike the other types of advertising discussed here the customer will read your bluetooth message in order to delete it, this may even be left on their handset for months. So your marketing message is literally being read put in the palm of peoples hands, if you produce a catchy advert they can even forward the advert on to their friends via bluetooth or MMS (so get creative with your adverts).
